Here is an Edison TG-8-C used for training telegraphers. It incorporates an Edison Voice Writer with tube amplified input and output so that telegrapher trainees can practice Morse code. This is not a very common machine today, I don't know of the existence of any others, though there probably are some around somewhere. The serial number on this one is 30. It is also stamped as having been reconditioned at the Utah General Depot in Ogden, Utah. This was a military support facility from 1941-1997.
I believe this machine dates from 1941 or close to that.
